Calls to Action do work!  Jim Lombardo, our lobbyist, said a minute ago that AB-8 passed out of the Senate Transportation Committee and now heads to the Senate Public Safety Committee in the next week or two.

Hello ABATE member!

 

Nardos Girma – staff member for Assemblyman Mike Gatto – who is a longtime friend of ABAT moments ago contacted me and asked if all ABATE members would please give one final push for the common sense AB 8 bill of his that will allow law enforcement to use the emergency alert system aka Amber Alert Signs in certain hit and run accidents to help them apprehend the perpetrator of these hit and run crimes.  Think how nice it would be to have them use the system should one of us or our family members be involved in a hit and run on our motorcycles!

 

Because the hearing is tomorrow – June 30th - Assemblyman Mike Gatto would like all of us to call Senator Jim Beall’s office at 916.615.4015 and ask him to please SUPPORT AB 8!  Even if you call after hours today, you can leave a message on his answering machine.   If you cannot call, please email Senator Beall at senator.beall at senate.ca.gov   Please make those calls or send those emails now!
