Following the motorcycle collision this morning involving Officer Bruce Byrd, Your Lt. Brown made the comment to the newspapers :"Anytime a police officer, whether it's our agency or another is inured, it hits home with anyone in the law enforcement family and we take that very seriously," said SDPD Lt. Brown.
 
 I am the Safety Officer of ABATE of California, a Motorcycle Rights Association. Speaking for myself, I must say that as motorcyclists it hits home with us when ANY motorcyclist is injured or killed, especially when it involves a violation of Right of Way, as happens to so many riders. Vehicles making bad left turns put a lot of us in the hospital. We would certainly appreciate it if your officers would bring a lot of attention to bear on vehicles violating the Right of Way of ANY other motorist, and violating the Right of Way of all of us on motorcycles, whether they be police or civilians. Thank You
