California Motorcyclist Anti-Profiling Coalition

 

 

Assembly Bill 2972 passed out of the Public Safety Committee on April 10th
on a 5-2 vote and is now expected to be heard by the full Assembly as soon
as April 19th and then referred to the Senate!

Because the next hearing is scheduled for April 19th (just two days from
now!) it is imperative that you contact your representatives immediately and
ask them to please support AB-2972.  If you don't know who your
representatives are, you can find out who they are at:

We have tried to make contacting your representatives as easy as possible
because it is so very important that they hear from all of us.   

*	Send an email or fax using the attached information sheet with
plenty of history and talking points that was put together by Double D.  
*	Send an email or fax using the attached sheet of talking points.  
*	Call your representative using the attached a sheet with your
representative's telephone numbers (they are 916 area codes) and Capitol
room numbers.  
*	Let the AMA send your messageThe AMA has made contacting your reps
very simple by just clicking on their link and they will send your letter!

We are hoping that all of you that signed up for these Calls To Actions will
now come forward and make those in Sacramento hear us!  If we don't stand up
for our rights, who will?  Please share this CTA with all your friends,
family, club members, and anybody else you can think of.  We have a very
short notice on this hearing and we need all the help we can get.  This bill
is NOT a sure thing!  We need your help!

Finally, IF you happen to live in the Sacramento area and IF you can be at
the hearing on the 19th, that would look good.  Although no public input
will be allowed at this hearing, a few bikers in the audience would help for
appearance sake.  Attending the hearing is optional, but please, making our
voices heard is not optional!
